Colonia showed itself to be the class of the conference throughout the season on its way to a GMC title...but will go through the entire off-season saying "We came up just short" after a loss to Ramapo in the North Jersey Group III Final. That loss aside, the Patriots finished 27-5 and beat a national program in La Lumiere(IN) along the way. 6'6" junior guard Aiden Derkack is among the best players in the state and northeast for 2026 and averaged nearly 25ppg. Classmate RJ Wortman gave him quite a bit of help on the offensive end this winter as well. With only Zachary Smith graduating from the key contributors, Colonia will be heavy favorites to make another run at a GMC title and will surely be hungry to gain some revenge on Ramapo next winter.
Sayreville took a step forward, finishing 23-5, but they, like Colonia, will spend the offseason saying "We went home too early" after an upset loss to Freehold Twp in states. Junior guard Sam Jones had another All-GMC season, crossing 1,000 points in his career. He had a season high of 32 against South Plainfield. His teammate, rugged forward Chidi Chukwurah, also crossed the 1,000 point mark, averaging nearly 20ppg.
Timothy Christian finished 15-11 in Dennis McNulty's final season but packed a tough 1-2 punch in high Jalen Fleming and 6'8" Chukwudi Mamah, who both made a case for All-GMC status as seniors.
