Cocozziello Out At St. Joe's

Saint Joseph's of Metuchen has announced that Jan Cocozziello will no longer be the head coach of its basketball team and a search is underway for his replacement.

Cocozziello was 88-40 in five seasons as the Falcons head man, including a 19-9 mark this past winter. He mentored several college prospects during his tenure, including current Lehigh freshman Josh Ingram and current senior Jeremy Clayville, who is committed to Saint Francis(PA).

The Falcons never finished below .500 during his time as coach and advanced to a sectional final in 2023. This winter saw the Falcons fall in the GMC semis to Saint Thomas(56-51) and A South Quarters to Paul VI(64-59).

The announcement opens up speculation for a "who's who" of applicants that will surely cascade into the school given its history of success and prime location in Central Jersey.
