Our GSBR conference recaps continue today with the Colonial Conference.
Year In Review
Woodbury, with its very young core, finished 17-15, punching above its weight. They got hot at the perfect time and advanced to the Group I State Semifinals. Sophomore Devin Williams scored nearly 600 points and junior Jaden Farmer also contributed. They tangled many top teams this winter and have a great core returning to make more noise next year.
Death, Taxes, Haddonfield winning 20. The knowns in life. Paul Wiedeman wins...and wins. Haddonfield finished 21-8 and that bodes well for the future as they will return 8 of their top 9 next year. Juniors Mike Douglas and Chris Beane had big years. They only lose Jake Dewedoff to graduation. The entire varsity roster returns outside of him. Keep and eye on them next year.
Haddon Twp finished 21-10, losing to Woodbury in the sectional final. They also return msot of their core for next year and should be a team to watch. Junior forward Axel Mohr was the high scorer on the season.
Player Of The Year
Devin Williams, Woodbury
The 6'1" sophmore exploded this season for 597 points, good for a nearly 19ppg average. He is poised to blast well beyond 1,000 points next season. He had a high of 30 vs Sterling and was over 20 in most state games. He's got talent around him, for sure, but Woodbury arrived a year early because of him.
