The Men’s Mental Health Challenge was held on Saturday at Red Bank Regional, featuring several games. Today's opener pitted Scotch Plains/Fanwood HS against the hosts, RBR.
The First two quarters were played with neither team being able to break away. SPF took a brief lead led by 2 three pointers from Jaden Carpien while the Bucs answered with 7 points from Zayier Dean and 4 from Ryan Fisher as both teams were tied at 13 after a quarter.

The second quarter saw tight defense take over, causing a host of turnovers and leaving the teams working overtime for buckets. Jameson Ackerman stood out with 5 points as RBR went to the half with a 1 point lead at 22-21.
The third quarter began with a quick basket by Scotch Plains by Kyle Hunter and then RBR went to the basket and got back to back buckets from Dean and Ackerman. The Bucs had a solid third and took a double digit lead into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter saw Scotch Plains Fanwood claw their way back into the contest, as Carpien scored several buckets to cut the lead to half a dozen. RBR responded down the stretch, drew several fouls , and Fisher was 6\6 from the line as the Bucs pulled away for a statement 60-45 win.
RBC defeated Ranney 82-71 in the second game of the day behind a huge performance from Colin Cavanaugh, who hit 11 three pointers on his way to a 35 point performance.
